The Oaks Course of TPC San Antonio (par 72, 7,428 yards, POA trivialis greens) will be hosting the Valero Texas Open, which has been the home of this event since 2010. There will be 132 players competing with a top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds.

Tony Finau to make the cut
While Finau isn’t contending for wins right now, he is playing steady golf. The veteran has made six of his last seven cuts and he has carded four top-30 finishes over this time. Finau has gained strokes on approach in back-to-back starts and is a safe bet to make the cut at TPC San Antonio. Finau knows this venue well, making 5-of-6 cuts here, one of which was a T3 in 2017. In general, Finau loves competing in the Lone Star State. At Texas-based courses, Finau is gaining 1.29 strokes per round, which ranks ninth among this field.
Matt Kuchar to make the cut
Kuchar’s resume at TPC San Antonio is incredible. The 47-year-old has only failed to make the cut here once in 13 starts and nine of these finishes have come inside the top-25. Kuchar finished runner-up in 2022, T3rd in 2023 and T18 just last season. Among this field, Kuchar ranks ninth in strokes gained per round at TPC San Antonio. The nine-time PGA TOUR event winner has missed three cuts in 2026, but has advanced to the weekend in nine of his last 12 starts and just finished T56th at the Houston Open last week. Kuchar gained strokes on approach at Memorial Park and should carry this over into a made cut at TPC San Antonio.
Vince Whaley to make the cut
Whaley has made 3-of-4 cuts at TPC San Antonio with two finishes inside the top-35. In 14 rounds at the track, Whaley has shot under par eight times. Returning to TPC San Antonio this week, Whaley has advanced to the weekend in three of his last four starts. Whaley just finished T28th at the Houston Open last week and he gained strokes on approach and with his putter at Memorial Park. Overall, Whaley has only missed five cuts in his last 25 starts.
