The late Virgil Abloh is legendary thanks, in part, to his work on the iconic “The Ten” campaign from 2017. The quintessential collaboration between an artist and a sneaker company, Abloh’s “The Ten” campaign is a landmark event for sneaker culture and the definitive artifact of the sneaker era from the late 2010s into the pandemic.
Now, one of the most limited and sought after Virgil collabs drops as his “Alaska” Air Jordan 1 OG drops for the first time in North America, with various raffles currently open through the end of the week.

Everything you need to know about the Virgil Abloh Archive Air Jordan 1 OG “Alaska”
The Air Jordan 1, specifically in the “Chicago” colorway, was one of the shoes Albloh chose for his “Ten” collection. “UNC” and “Alaska” colorways followed, with the “Alaska” colorway the most exclusive of those colorways. Now, it is releasing for the first time in North America through various raffles with a SNKRS release rumored to follow.
Abloh told Nike, that growing up in Illinois, he and his friends became “enamored” with Air Jordans and would even go so far as to sketch ideas and send them to the sportswear company. Abloh, who told Nike that he identified hip-hop and rock album covers and graffiti as part of his design education, put the Air Jordan 1 under the “Revealing” theme in the original “Ten” collection, which “was designed to look accessible: hand-cut, open-source and reconstructed.” He told Nike that “the Jordan I was done in one design session. I work in a very like dream-like state. I see it, and it’s done.”
The Virgil Abloh Archive 2026 edition mostly has all of the original Off-White elements in tact — plastic tag, exposed foam at the collar, orange tag at the end of an enlarged Nike Swoosh, “AIR” branding on the midsole— one major difference is in the “V.A.A. for Nike” branding on the medial side replacing “Off-White for Nike.” This is not a surprise, as reports have suggested that the Abloh estate has not collaborated with Off-White since 2022.
The shoe features a white upper, with almost light, light blue sections, grey suede overlays, an off-white (but not Off-White) sail midsole and a white outsole. Like most Abloh releases, the shoelaces actually say “shoelaces” and a plastic tag is attached, this time in light blue. Staying true to the “Revealing” theme, the shoe features exposed foam and exposed stitching details. This collab also comes in a special box with various Abloh signature design elements.

In a time where we’ve seen multiple former grails hit retail, this may be the biggest of them all. This is sure to be a Sneaker of the Year candidate, if not favorite, and will not be easy to get. The last OG pair on StockX sold for a price of $3,903, so the $230 on various raffles doesn’t seem so bad. If you can’t hit on the various raffles, the 2026 V.A.A. release currently has an average price of $653 on 35 sales on StockX. Best of luck to all looking to pick up a pair!
