For the final event before the Masters, the PGA TOUR is hosting the Valero Texas Open at Oaks Course of TPC San Antonio (par 72, 7,428 yards, POA trivialis greens). This venue has hosted the Valero Texas Open since 2010 and at this event last year, Brian Harman (-9) won by three strokes. There will be 132 golfers competing this week and a top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds.
Below, I dive into three of my favorite DFS options on DraftKings for the Valero Texas Open.

Sudarshan Yellamaraju ($8,100)
Yellamaraju is having an excellent first season on the PGA TOUR. The 24-year-old out of Canada has made 7 of 8 cuts, and four of these finishes have been top-20 results. In his last two starts, Yellamaraju has been in the mix for wins. After impressively finishing T5th in his PLAYERS Championship debut, Yellamaraju stayed hot at the Houston Open last week and finished T6th. He gained strokes in every major category at Memorial Park and Yellamaraju has shot under par in six consecutive rounds.
Yellamaraju is a well balanced player whose game is firing on all cylinders right now. This season, he ranks top-25 in SGT2G, SG OTT, SG APP, SGP and par four performance. Yellamaraju has moved himself up 105 spots in the world golf rankings in just seven starts this season and he should have a successful Valero Texas Open debut this week, possibly with his third straight top-10 finish.
Thorbjorn Olesen ($7,800)
Olesen has had a frustrating season, making 2 of 6 cuts, but he found something in his game at the Houston Open last week. Olesen finished a season-best T14th, including back-to-back 3-under 67s to finish the event. The Dane ranked seventh in SG APP at Memorial Park and now, he will look to build off this at TPC San Antonio, which is a venue Olesen loves.
Olesen has finished T14th and T5th in his two starts at TPC San Antonio. The 36-year-old has only shot over par once in his eight rounds here and he ranks third among this field in strokes gained per round at TPC San Antonio. Olesen could add another high finish to his Valero Texas Open resume this week and he is underpriced for his upside at only $7,800. Olesen has carded 12 top-20 finishes over the last year and he was just priced up to $8,500 for the Cognizant Classic last month.
Mac Meissner ($7,300)
After making 11 straight cuts and recording seven top-30 finishes during this run, Meissner hit a wall this month, missing three cuts in a row. All of these early exits came in Florida, but competing in Texas last week, Meissner got back on track with a T28 finish at the Houston Open, including a 5-under 65 to conclude the tournament. Meissner being more comfortable competing in the Lone Star State wasn’t surprising, as Meissner grew up in Texas.
In fact, he hails from San Antonio and TPC San Antonio is one of his home courses. Meissner missed the cut in his first professional start at TPC San Antonio in 2021, but he has finished T10th and T52nd at the venue the last two years. Meissner currently is the No.115 ranked player in the world, which is the highest he has ranked heading into a Valero Texas Open by 41 spots. Meissner ranks 10th in total strokes gained when we compare this field’s last 50 rounds and he is a great bargain at this $7,300 salary that shouldn’t be popular.
