Collin Morikawa has withdrawn from the Valero Texas Open, just one week before The Masters. Morikawa has not played since withdrawing from THE PLAYERS Championship.
Collin Morikawa is a top-10 player in the world by the Official World Golf Rankings. However, he might not be in the field for The Masters next weekend. Morikawa was having a great start to his 2026 season, winning at Pebble Beach and recording top-10 finishes at The Genesis and the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Morikawa was playing his best golf in years and was a top contender heading into THE PLAYERS. That is, until he bizarrely withdrew from the tournament on the 11th tee box after experiencing back spasms while taking practice swings. It didn’t seem too serious at the time, but Morikawa has yet to play since that WD.
Morikawa was expected to return for this tournament ahead of The Masters to get his game fine-tuned. However, after facing another injury setback, Morikawa’s status is in serious jeopardy for golf’s biggest weekend. Morikawa is currently +2200 to win The Masters on DraftKings Sportsbook. He is one of only eight players with odds of 25/1 or better, so that will be a serious contender off the board if Morikawa can’t play.
