Looking for the best MLB prop bets today? We’ve got you covered with top picks and betting angles for March 31, 2026. This slate offers a nice mix of offensive upside and strikeout potential, with a few pitchers in vulnerable spots and others in position to dominate. We’re targeting the Tigers in a strong matchup against Brandon Pfaadt, backing Brandon Nimmo against a struggling Zach Eflin, and looking to Hunter Brown to take advantage of a Red Sox lineup that has been striking out at a high rate. Let’s get into the best MLB prop bets on the board.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today (March 31, 2026)

  • Best Team Total: Detroit Tigers over 4.5 runs (+100) Brandon Pfaadt’s continued struggles and a weak bullpen positions the Tigers well tonight at the plate
  • Best Hitting Prop: Brandon Nimmo 3+ H/R/RBI (+136) Stellar matchup against Zach Eflin, who was crushed by lefties in 2025
  • Best Pitcher Prop: Hunter Brown over 6.5 strikeouts (-120) Red Sox early offensive struggles have them averaging 10.1 strikeouts per game

Let’s break down why these are some of my favorite MLB prop bets today.

Detroit Tigers Team Total Over 4.5 runs (+100) vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

The Tigers’ offense has been humming along in the first week of the season, averaging 4.7 runs through their first four games. They have a great opportunity to keep up that pace tonight against Brandon Pfaadt and the Diamondbacks. Pfaadt had put up strong numbers in the minors, but hasn’t been able to translate that at the major league level through three seasons. Last season, he ended with a 5.25 ERA to go with a 5.28 FIP and a career-low 7.4 K/9. Both sides of the plate hit him hard, tagging him with a minimum wOBA of .333.

His three main pitches, a four-seam, slider, and sinker, are mostly handled well by the Tigers. They don’t have great numbers against the slider, but excel against the four-seam and sinker. This Tigers lineup had a ridiculous .399 wOBA and .183 ISO against that pitch. Once Pfaadt departs, he’ll give way to a bullpen that’s allowed 13 runs on 15 hits and seven walks through 14.1 innings.

Brandon Nimmo 3+ H/R/RBI (+134) vs. Baltimore Orioles

Normally, these props are set at 2+ H/R/RBI, but I’m going for three with Nimmo tonight. He should be hitting at the top of the Rangers lineup tonight against Orioles starter Zach Eflin. While he only threw 71.1 innings last season, it was one of the worst seasons he’s experienced since his early days in the league back in 2017. Eflin produced a 5.93 ERA with a 4.49 xERA and a 2.27 HR/9. While he was bad against both sides of the plate, lefties annihilated him with a .413 wOBA, a 6.93 FIP, and 15 of the 18 home runs he allowed. Naturally, Nimmo at the top of the lineup has a great opportunity to produce in this matchup.

Hunter Brown over 6.5 strikeouts (-120) vs. Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox offense has looked dead in the water so far. They were completely overpowered last night by Lance McCullers Jr., which I fully expected them to do well against. Now, they’re facing an actual ace in Hunter Brown, who could do the same as McCullers did last night. I like Brown to go over 6.5 strikeouts against a team that has struck out 41 times already. It’s early numbers, so these will change drastically over the next few weeks, but the Red Sox are already averaging 10.2 strikeouts per game. Brown has averaged over a strikeout per inning throughout his career and whiffed nine Angels through 4.2 innings in his first start. I expect him to rack up the strikeouts tonight against the Sox.
