The Oaks Course of TPC San Antonio (par 72, 7,428 yards, POA trivialis greens) will be hosting the Valero Texas Open, which has been the home of this event since 2010. Brian Harman (-9) is the defending champion and for this week, there will be 132 players competing and a top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds.

Below, I have featured my two favorite bets for the Valero Texas Open on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Sepp Straka to win (+2900)

These odds are way too long for Straka. The Aussie is the fourth-highest ranked player in the field, but his +2900 odds to win the Valero Texas Open are just the 11th-best on the board. It’s not like Straka is playing bad, either, it’s quite the opposite. In his last five starts, Straka has finished T-18, runner-up, T-50, T-13 and T-8. That final finish came at the challenging TPC Sawgrass for the THE PLAYERS Championship and Straka gained strokes in every major category at the venue.

Straka has been one of the best ball-strikers on the PGA TOUR this season, ranking 12th in SG APP, which sets him up well for TPC San Antonio. For three years running, the winner at this course has either led or finished runner-up in SG APP. Straka’s best finish at TPC San Antonio came in his last start at the course with a T-22 in 2023, but he is a totally different class of player now. Since his last visit to TPC San Antonio, Straka has won three times on the PGA TOUR. The 32-year-old has the tools to win at this track and is worth investing in at these odds.

Keith Mitchell for a top-20 finish including ties (+150)

Mitchell has never missed a cut in four tries at TPC San Antonio and three of these finishes have come inside the top-20. His best finish at this venue is a T-12 last season and he opened the tournament with an 8-under 64. Mitchell ranks 10th among this field in strokes gained per round at TPC San Antonio and the key to him succeeding at this venue is his elite work with his driver, which Mitchell has maintained this season. The bomber ranks ninth on the PGA TOUR in SG OTT.

Three of the last four winners at TPC San Antonio have ranked top-12 in SG OTT during their victories, so Mitchell is in a great position to succeed this week. The veteran is coming off a T-14 finish at the Houston Open and he has finished inside the top-20 in five of his last 12 starts.
