The NCAA Tournament is coming to a close with the Michigan Wolverines and Arizona Wildcats each winning their respective regions to punch their tickets to the Final Four.
These have been two of the best teams in college basketball all season, and they have earned a chance to square off with each other on the big stage.
Michigan Wolverines vs. Arizona Wildcats Opening Odds
Looking at the odds on DraftKings Sportsbook, Arizona opens as a narrow 1.5-point favorite and holds -115 odds of winning outright. Michigan holds -105 odds of winning outright, with the game total set at 156.5.
Both these teams entered the NCAA Tournament as a 1-seed in their respective regions.
Michigan went 31-3 coming into the tournament and won the Big Ten regular season title. They defeated Howard 101-80 in the opening round, took down Saint Louis 95-72 in the round of 32, met Alabama’s scoring for a 90-77 win in the Sweet 16, and blew out Tennessee 95-62 in their most recent win. The Wolverines rank eighth in the country in scoring, 67th in opponents’ points allowed, and in the top-16 of the country in both offensive and defensive ratings.
Arizona went 32-2 ahead of the NCAA Tournament, winning the Big 12 regular season and tournament championships. They blew out Long Island University 92-58 in the opening round, defeated Utah State 87-66 in the round of 32, outpaced Arkansas 109-88, and picked up a 79-64 win over Purdue to earn this opportunity. The Wildcats rank 12th in the country in scoring, 53rd in opponents’ points allowed, and rank in the top-13 in the country in offensive and defensive ratings.
The winner of this matchup will earn a place in the NCAA National Championship and await the winner of Illinois and either Duke or Connecticut.
