UPDATE: Darius Garland has returned for the second half vs. the Pacers.

Los Angeles Clippers guard Darius Garland suffered an ankle injury during Friday’s game vs. the Indiana Pacers and is headed back to the locker room.

Garland seemed to roll his ankle and stayed in the game for a brief time afterward, but he went to the locker room shortly before halftime. He does not have an official injury designation.

Garland played 15 minutes in Friday’s game prior to his trip to the locker room. He scored eight points and dished out four assists in the first half.

If he does not return, Kris Dunn could see additional work at point guard.

The former All-Star struggled with injuries for much of the campaign, but has looked much more like himself following the trade that sent him from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Clippers. Across 11 games for the franchise, he averages 21.1 points and 6.8 assists per game, shooting a blazing 50.6% from the field and 51.2% from deep. While those efficiency marks are almost certain to regress some, he’s been undeniably effective as the lead guard here.

Prior to the conclusion of tonight’s game, the Clippers are 37-36 on the campaign and sit eighth in the Western Conference, just half a game ahead of the Portland Trail Blazers.
