Sandy Alcantara More Than 4.5 Strikeouts Thrown (Promo Pick)
Sandy Alcantara is hoping for a bounce-back 2026 season. The 2022 Cy-Young award winner missed all of 2024 after undergoing Tommy John Surgery. In his return season in 2025, Alcantara had a career-worst 5.36 ERA. Only time will tell if this is the new Alcantara or if he can get back closer to his Cy Young-winning form. However, this is a great promo pick on DraftKings Pick6 for his first start of the season. It lowers his strikeout over/under to 4.5 strikeouts rather than 5.5.
Alcantara improved dramatically as the season progressed. In the first half of the season, he had a 7.22 ERA and allowed an opponent OPS of .779. In the second half of the season, he had an ERA of 3.33 and allowed an opponent OPS of .636. If Alcantara can take that second-half form and build on it, he could be in for a great season. During that second half, Alcantara went from 7.0 K/9 to 7.6 K/9. He should be able to record at least five strikeouts against this subpar Rockies lineup, which struck out the second-most of any team in baseball last season.
Carlos Correa More Than 1.5 Total Bases
Carlos Correa is back in an Astros uniform this season. In seven years with Houston, Correa won a Rookie of the Year award, made two All-Star teams, and, most importantly, won a World Series. After a stint in Minnesota, Correa was sent back to Houston before the deadline last season. Correa is hoping to make an impact in Houston this season. In this game against the Angels, he will feel confident with Yusei Kikuchi on the mound. These two are incredibly familiar with each other, having faced off 27 times in the past. Correa has gotten the better of Kikuchi in those matchups, with a .481 batting average and a 1.147 OPS lifetime against the left-hander. He has a 55% quality at-bat rate against Kikuchi and has a great chance to record an extra-base hit or multiple hits to get over this mark.
Kyle Manzardo More Than 0.5 Hits
Kyle Manzardo is heading into his second full season in the MLB. Manzardo had a solid first full season, hitting 27 home runs and driving in 70 runs for Cleveland in 2025. He already got his first hit out of the way on Opening Day, going 1/4 against Seattle on Thursday. For this game, he will be facing George Kirby to start. Manzardo has already faced Kirby over two separate starts in his young career. He has won that battle against Kirby, with a lifetime .500 batting average and a home run in six starts against the right-hander. Manzardo was dramatically better against righties last season, with a .245 batting average, in comparison to his .186 batting average against lefties. He should extend his hitting streak to start the season to two games by getting at least a base knock against Kirby.
