For the sixth consecutive time, the Texas Children’s Houston Open will be played at Memorial Park (par 70, 7,475 yards, Poa trivialis greens) in Houston. There will be 133 players competing and a top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds.

Mackenzie Hughes to make the cut
Ever since Memorial Park became the host of the Houston Open, Hughes has made the cut at all five of the events played at this par 70. Not only has Hughes been reliable at making the cut at Memorial Park, he has never finished worse than T-29 here, including a T-7 in 2021 and a T-10 last season. Hughes has a 7-under 63 on his resume at Memorial Park and he has shot under par in 13 of his 20 rounds at the Texas venue. Hughes ranks seventh among this field in strokes gained per round at Memorial Park and he has made six of his last eight cuts entering this week.
S.H. Kim to make the cut
Kim has only missed two cuts in his last nine starts and he has finished inside the top-20 four times during this stretch. Most recently, Kim finished T-7 at the Valspar Championship last week, marking his best finish of the season. Outside of around the greens, Kim gained strokes in every major category at the Copperhead Course. The 27-year-old now heads to Memorial Park, where he has finished T-47 and T-45 in his two starts.
Trey Mullinax to make the cut
Mullinax hasn’t competed since the fall, but his last time out, he finished T-25 at the RSM Classic, marking his sixth made cut in his last seven starts. The Alabama product ranks 12th in SGT2G when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds and he finished last season 23rd in driving distance on the PGA TOUR. Mullinax’s driver has always been his best club throughout his career and being a long hitter is an advantage at the lengthy Memorial Park. Of the last five winners here, four have finished the event top-16 in driving distance. Given his skills in this department, Mullinax has fared well at Memorial Park. After missing the cut in his first attempt, Mullinax finished T-4 and T-39 in his next two starts at Memorial Park. The bomber has shot 67 or better in six of his 10 rounds at the par 70, and Mullinax should begin his 2026 campaign with a solid finish this week.
