The New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants are kicking off the MLB season on Wednesday night in San Francisco. The game will be airing on Netflix at 8:05 p.m. ET.

Giants vs. Yankees
Jazz Chisolm Jr. More Than 1.5 Total Bases
Jass Chisholm Jr. will be happy to be starting the season off against a right-handed pitcher. He really struggled against lefties last season, with an 82 tOPS+ against lefties and a 107 tOPS+ against righties. Chisolm actually had a better batting average against right-handed pitchers, but could not generate any power. Chisolm’s OPS was .843 against righties, compared to .733 against lefties.
Logan Webb struggled against left-handed batters last season. He allowed an opposing tOPS+ of 79 to right-handers, compared to 121 against left-handers. Last season, Webb gave up 44 extra-base hits to lefties and just 22 to righties. Chisolm should be able to generate an extra-base hit off Webb in this game. Jazz Chisolm Jr. is coming off a World Baseball Classic campaign with Team Great Britain, so he has been playing competitive baseball this offseason and should be ready for Opening Day.
Rafael Devers More Than 1.5 Total Bases
Rafael Devers getting traded from the Red Sox to the Giants was one of the biggest moves of the 2025 MLB season. It was a rollercoaster of a season for Devers, who started the season on an all-time cold streak before catching fire in May. Once he went to the Giants, Devers started slow, then had a red-hot August. His consistency trailed off a bit down the stretch, but the power remained.
It’s fitting that Rafael Devers will face Max Fried in his first Opening Day as a Giant. On June 15th of last year, Devers hit a home run off Max Fried in what ended up being his final hit as a member of the Boston Red Sox. Now, Devers will hope to start this season how he ended his Red Sox tenure, with a big game against Fried. Devers has a career .333 batting average and 1.000 OPS against Fried. Devers should be motivated to keep up his success against Fried on Opening Day and register an extra-base hit.
Cody Bellinger More Than 0.5 Runs Batted In
Cody Bellinger has a lot of the same things going for him in this game that Jazz Chisolm has. That is Logan Webb’s major struggles against lefties. He gave up twice as many extra-base hits to left-handers as he did to right-handers last season. That is despite facing an equal number of righties and lefties. Bellinger is coming off a fantastic 2025 season and is hoping to keep it rolling. Bellinger drove in 98 runs for the Yankees last season. That was partially due to his placement in the lineup right behind Aaron Judge. All Judge does is get on base, so Bellinger should have plenty of chances to drive in a run in this game. He should take advantage of Webb’s struggles against lefties and record his first RBI of the season on Opening Day.
