NHL Best Bets Today: Top Picks for Tuesday 3/24/26
Viktor Arvidsson 1+ Point (+100)
The Bruins have very sharp when playing at home, and they will get to face an Auston Matthews-less Maple Leafs team with next season already on its mind. Arvidsson has notched a point in eight of his last 10 outings while sharing second-line minutes with both Casey Mittelstadt and Pavel Zacha. When playing at home, he’s been even more consistent, clearing this line in 14 of his past 20 home games. The 32-year-old ranks seventh in the NHL in 5v5 points per 60, and Toronto ranks 32nd in 5v5 goals against per 60. He should also see expanded opportunities to notch a point on the power play, as the Maple Leafs rank first in penalty minutes per game since returning from the Olympic break.
Filip Forsberg to Score a Goal (+150)
Forsberg has scored at least one goal in six of his last seven meetings against San Jose. The 31-year-old has also scored a goal in six of his past seven home games. Combine those two points, and then take into account just how poor the Sharks’ goaltending has been this season, and we’re looking at a sneaky plus-odds play. Forsberg has been a cash cow at home for the majority of the season and ranks 28th in the NHL in goals per 60. He’ll face either Alex Nedeljkovic or Yaroslav Askarov in net, both of whom rank inside the bottom 50 in goals saved above expected and SV% above expected.
Martin Necas 1+ Assist (-130)
Necas has notched back-to-back two-assist games and ranks fourth in the NHL in 5v5 assists per 60. Colorado is on game three of a four-game road trip, and Necas has totaled 11 assists across his last eight road outings. Pittsburgh welcomed back Sidney Crosby; however, its goaltending has been very leaky lately, and a team like the Avalanche will take advantage of that. Across the last 10 games, the Penguins rank 29th in 5v5 goals against per 60, which will be a good bounce-back spot for the Avalanche, who uncharacteristically rank 21st in 5v5 goals per 60 during the same span. Additionally, Necas has notched an assist in four of his past five meetings against Pittsburgh.
