Jared McCain over 2.5 3PM (+138)
Yep, this is the Jared McCain return game as the young guard makes his way back to Xfinity Mobile Arena for the first time since being traded away earlier this season. Take a moment to soak in the fact that he’s reportedly getting a tribute video on the big screen to commemorate his time as a Sixer — surely, Philly fans miss the guy.
I’m very much in on over 2.5 made threes for McCain tonight. He’s shooting 40.6% from deep this season overall but has seen that already good number improve to a stellar 44.0% in his 19 games with the Thunder. Over this sample, he’s averaging 5.3 three-point attempts per game with 2.3 makes, so we see him flirt with tonight’s line in that regard. Here’s the part we really like, though. Across 10 games this March, McCain has bumped that up ever-so slightly to 6.3 3PA and 2.7 3PM per game. He’s gone over tonight’s line of 2.5 3PM in six of his last nine games as well.
While his 19.3 minutes a night don’t have him on the floor for a massive workload, McCain is productive and should be extra motivated heading into this matchup. The 76ers are also an average defensive matchup, allowing a 35.7% 3P% that ranks 16th while falling 19th in opponent 3PA per game and 16th in opponent 3PM. Watch for McCain to hit at least three big shots against his former team, and probably make a TikTok about it afterwards, too. Dance on, Jared.
Quentin Grimes 20+ points (-115)
Tyrese Maxey will remain sidelined due to injury for a while, but we’ve seen this story before. The Sixers lose a star player and Quentin Grimes steps up to carry the load in the meantime, and this time, they’re still firmly in the postseason mix as well.
Grimes averaged 21.9 PPG last season across 28 games for Philadelphia after he was traded away out of Dallas. Now, he has the chance to do so again while his team’s star guard is out. While he averages only 13.9 PPG this season and has some rougher shooting splits at 45.1% from the field and 32.9% from deep, there’s still plenty of reason to feel encouraged if taking 20+ points for the guard tonight. His decline in production comes as a result of a healthier cast around him, but in 10 games without Maxey this season, Grimes brings 20.1 PPG. He’s scored 20+ points in exactly five of those, all of which have come in March.
With Joel Embiid also out and Paul George still serving a suspension, there’s a ton of shot volume available for the taking. Grimes is questionable due to an illness, but if he suits up, this prop bet makes for an excellent volume-based play.
