The Spartans are back in the Sweet 16 for the second consecutive season and have a date with No. 2 UConn. No. 3 Michigan State’s offense was on fire against No. 14 North Dakota State in the first round. It then defeated No. 6 Louisville in the second round to advance past the first weekend. Jeremy Fears Jr. has been marvelous, recording 11 and 16 assists across the first two games.
Alex Karaban’s career high 27 points lifted the Huskies past No. 7 UCLA in the second round. It wasn’t the prettiest win, but UConn’s offense picked up in the second half.
