Iowa State leaned on a massive second half against Kentucky to advance to to the Sweet 16. The team is still without star player Joshua Jefferson after an early injury in the first round. His absence was prevalent in the first half against Kentucky as the Cyclones led 31-30 at the break. Four players scored in double figures with Tamin Lipsey posting 26 points and 10 assists in the win.

Tennessee didn’t have the same luxury of a blowout second half. Its second round game with Virginia was tight all throughout. Nonetheless, a win is a win, and the Volunteers are onto their third straight Sweet 16 appearance.

Iowa State vs. Tennessee opening odds

The Cyclones open as a 4.5-point favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook, with the Volunteers listed at +180 on the moneyline. The points total is set at 135.5.
