There’s no one like Michael “Venom” Page. The veteran striker is known for his wildly unorthodox style — constant stance switches, persistent feints, and unapologetic showmanship. And he’s proven that, even at 38, he can still hang with the very best.
The former Bellator star has gone 3–1 across since making the jump to UFC in 2024, an impressive run across middleweight and welterweight. He took down divisional mainstay Kevin Holland, derailed the hype train of Shara “Bullet” Magomedov, and, most recently, former title challenger Jared Cannonier. His lone loss inside the Octagon came against Ian Machado Garry, but virtually everyone loses to Ian Machado Garry.
While “MVP” boasts 16 professional finishes — 13 knockouts and three submissions — with 13 first-round stoppages, he’s shown a much more methodical side of himself in MMA’s flagship promotion. Page has averaged under 2.5 significant strikes per minute in the UFC, and all three of his wins have come by decision.

Sam Patterson is a problem. The surging prospect punched a ticket to the big stage with a second-round submission of Vinicius Cenci on Dana White’s Contender Series in September 2022. Though he was knocked out by Yohan Lainesse in his UFC debut, he responded in a big way — four straight first-round finishes, all inside four minutes.
Patterson, 29, pairs a well-rounded skillset with raw explosiveness, always hunting for a finish wherever the fight goes. Thirteen of his 14 professional wins have come inside the distance — six knockouts and seven submissions, including eight in the opening round. After starching Trey Waters in September, he’ll look to continue his trail of destruction in the toughest test of his career.
Page vs. Patterson Pick, Best Bet
The Paramount Era has been largely driven by veterans. Justin Gaethje handed Paddy Pimblett his first Octagon loss at UFC 324, and King Green flattened Daniel Zellhuber at UFC Mexico. MVP has already turned away Shara “Bullet,” one of the promotion’s fastest-rising stars, and he should continue to pose problems for Patterson.
Page should dictate the pace of this bout, but he hasn’t shown much urgency to chase a finish in the UFC. Expect him to get it done on the judges’ scorecards.
