Prediction, pick for Jaycob Gomez vs. Corey Marksman

Two rising prospects, Jaycob Gomez and Corey Marksman, in the Lightweight division, are facing off on tonight’s Matchroom Boxing card at the Caribe Royale Orlando in Orlando, Florida. Both fighters are undefeated: Gomez is 14-0-1, while Marksman is 12-0-1. The Main Event for this card is Carlos Adames vs. Austin Williams for the WBC Middleweight title.

Below, I break down my best bet for tonight’s fight between Jaycob Gomez vs. Corey Marksman.

Jaycob Gomez Moneyline (+140)

Marksman is slightly taller (5’9″ vs. 5’8″) than Gomez in this fight. Since having a draw in February 2024, Marksman has won four straight fights, with three of them coming by knockout. Gomez’s current win streak is eight in a row, after a draw in September 2022. This is Gomez’s second 10-round fight and first since June 2025, but it is Marksman’s first 10-round contest in his career.

This fight is extremely close as Marksman is a -180 favorite with Gomez being a +140 underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook. Marksman is at +140 to win on the judges’ score while Gomez is at +215 to do the same. The over/under is 8.5 rounds with the over being -400. Since Gomez has 10-round experience, the longer the fight lasts, the more comfortable he will be. Although Gomez is powerful, he has won three of his last five fights by decision and has more ways to win. If Gomez can be defensively sound, he should be able to pick up the victory either late in the fight or by decision.
