Survivor 50 continued this week with a brutal immunity challenge, a Zac Brown concert (?), and an epic blindside. It was Mike White, former runner-up of Season 37, who saw his torch snuffed in Episode Four of Survivor, titled “Knife to the Heart”. If the last two votes are any indicator, it’s going to be a hectic scramble to secure a spot in the merge.
Now that the dust has settled, where does each contestant rank in their quest to be named Sole Survivor? Let’s break it all down with a look at who helped, or hurt, their chances at winning Survivor 50.

Biggest Risers
Rizo (+4)
Sometimes, good luck can fall into your lap on Survivor. That was the case for Rizo this week, as he was gifted a Billie Eilish Boomerang Idol from Genevieve. It comes at the perfect time; for two straight weeks, we’ve gotten some ominous confessionals from Charlie about targeting the RizGod. Still, Rizo appears to be doing well otherwise on the new-look Cila tribe
This placement doesn’t come without a bit of a caveat. Genevieve, a former Vatu ‘ally’, mentioned a plan to blindside Rizo with the idol in his pocket. That would in turn hand it over to her. It’s worth noting that we saw Colby and the now-departed Q bring Rizo into the old tribe’s original alliance. The relationship between him and Genevieve clearly isn’t as strong. It’s better to have an idol than not, but it could carry some risk.
Stephenie (+3)
New-look Vatu has been an absolute mess, with two straight trips to tribal council. Perhaps the only person to benefit from the chaos has been Stephenie. Despite emerging as a vote-out target in Episode 3, the old-school legend has kept her head down and forged strong social bonds. During this week’s Angelina-Emily-Mike drama, Stephenie’s name was never uttered as a possibility to go home. In fact, she worked closely with Christian on the right side of Wednesday’s vote.
It’s not just that Steph voted correctly. Ozzy (more on him later) is fuming at Christian. Emily has shown she can’t be trusted with any important information. Angelina is now without her number one ally. It’s difficult to envision Vatu banding together on any vote at the moment. Should this group go back to tribal, there’s a decent chance Stephenie will serve as a deciding swing vote.
Biggest Fallers
Ozzy (-4)
If there was a big loser on Vatu, it was Ozzy. Despite touting a renewed push to play a social game, the Survivor veteran found himself on the outside of this week’s vote. That was due in part by a desire to emerge as Mike White’s top ally going forward. To get that done, he was pushing hard for Angelina. While being told that was the plan, Ozzy was ultimately left befuddled and angry after being lied to at tribal council.
Look, it’s never fun feeling like the odd man out. I wouldn’t hold it against Ozzy for being wary of Christian and, to a lesser extent, Emily going forward. Regardless, it’s emotional, sloppy gameplay to voice your frustration immediately after a vote. It’s difficult to imagine Christian or anyone else on Vatu working closely with him going forward. Despite professing a new-era mindset, we saw the old Ozzy on Wednesday night.
