Two more favorites punched their ticket to the Round of 32 following Friday’s first round play. Alabama and Texas Tech will face each other on Sunday, March 22 in a No. 4 vs. No. 5 matchup.

Both squads played tight matchups in the first half but broke away in the second half. The Red Raiders led No. 12 Akron 40-35 at halftime and won 91-71. The Crimson Tide led 37-35 at half but also won by 20 points: 90-70 against No. 13 Hofstra.
