BREAK IT DOWN:

Kevin Durant 25+ Points (-114): Wednesday’s loss to the Lakers was an odd one for Durant, who took only 11 field goal attempts and finished with an underwhelming 18.8% usage rate — his third-lowest mark in any game this season. Really, this has been a month-long trend for the veteran wing, as Durant is averaging only 22.7 points with a 24.7% usage rate in March. I probably don’t have to tell you that those are also season-lows. Still, this is Kevin Durant we’re talking about. The ceiling is obviously there, and the All-Star has managed to score at least 29 points in two of his last five starts, despite the recent slump. I’m just not sure how much I’d bank on that ceiling in a matchup with the red-hot Hawks, who own the Eastern Conference’s best defensive rating in the month (106.9).
Jalen Brunson 25+ Points (-106): The headline information here is Karl-Anthony Towns (personal) being downgraded to questionable Friday morning. That’s not the direction you like to see players moving on game day. Now, it’s not like Jalen Brunson needs KAT to be absent to have a massive scoring performance — this is a man who ranks ninth in the NBA in points per contest (26.3) — but it certainly helps. In fact, with Towns off the floor in 2025-26, Brunson is in possession of a gargantuan 34.4% usage rate. Not shockingly, that’s translated to the guard scoring 32.8 points per 75 possessions without Towns, which is a full 9.0 points more than when the duo is sharing the court. Keep an eye on the Knicks’ IR, I guess.
Jaylen Brown 25+ Points (-122): For as good as Brown has been all season long, it’s difficult to ignore the impact Jayson Tatum has had on his teammate. In the six games that the duo have started together since Tatum’s return from injury, Brown’s failed to clear this prop four times. That said, in Brown’s last two games, he’s gone off for 41 points and 32 points, respectively, so maybe he’s beginning to get used to old teammate. It’s not like it’s Brown’s fault, either, the Celtics have simply been force-feeding their star when he’s been available, as Tatum’s amassed a 31.3% usage rate in this limited sample. It’s also not like it should matter much on Friday. Boston is in Memphis to take on a Grizzlies squad that is allowing 121.6 opponent points per 100 possessions in March. There should be enough opportunity to go around.
