The Miami Open is one of the best tennis tournaments of the year. The Round of 64 gets underway on Friday afternoon for both the men’s and women’s tournaments.
These are my Miami Open best bets to target on DraftKings Sportsbook for Friday’s matches.
Miami Open Round of 64 Best Bets
Ajla Tomljanovic vs. Amanda Anisimova: Tomljanovic +1.5 Sets (+135)
Amanda Anisimova has been one of the best players in the world over the past year. She has made two of the past three major finals and has risen to be the No. 6 player in the world. However, her form has seen a slight dip so far in 2026. She was bounced from the Round of 32 at the Brisbane International, upset in the Australian Open quarterfinals by Jessica Pegula, lost in the Round of 32 at the Qatar Open, and was upset in the Round of 16 at Indian Wells. Anisimova is still a great player, but every match she has lost this year has been to a player ranked worse than her, meaning she is not quite reaching her potential.
This is a tough Round of 64 matchup for Anisimova. Ajla Tomljanovic is a very experienced player and has been playing solid tennis in 2026. Tomljanovic was once the No. 32 player in the world, but currently ranks 81st. Tomljanovic took care of Simona Waltert in two sets in the Round of 128 here in Miami. She has a few solid results this season. Tomljanovic made it to the Round of 32 at Indian Wells, where she forced Jasmine Paolini to three sets. She also upset Iva Jovic to make the quarterfinals at the ATX Open prior to that. Ajla Tomljanovic is 2-0 in her career against Anisimova. Granted, the most recent of those matches came back in 2021, so they both took place when Anisimova was quite young. Still, Tomljanovic should come into this one with some confidence and be able to take at least one set.
Carlos Alcaraz vs. Joao Fonseca: Fonseca o8.5 Games Won (-110)
The No. 1 player in the world, Carlos Alcaraz, is looking to add a second Miami Open title to his trophy cabinet. He won this tournament in 2022, but has not made it back to a final since. Alcaraz has had a brilliant 2026 season so far, finally winning his first Australian Open and adding a Qatar Open title on top of that. Alcaraz looked great at Indian Wells until Daniil Medvedev upset him in the semifinals. After suffering his first loss of the year, the big question is, how will he bounce back here in Miami? That question will be answered tonight, given the challenge of this Round of 64 matchup.
Alcaraz will have to face the young phenom, Joao Fonseca, in the Round of 64. Facing the No. 39 player in the world in the Round of 64 is already a tough draw for the No. 1 player in the world. However, drawing Fonseca is even tougher, because his ceiling is much higher than World No. 39. Fonseca won the 2024 Next Gen ATP Finals and has proven to be one of the bright young stars in tennis. At Indian Wells, Fonseca went on a run to the Round of 16, upsetting Tommy Paul and Karen Khachanov en route. He faced the No. 2 player in the world, Jannik Sinner, in that Round of 16 and put up a great fight. Sinner won in two sets, but Fonseca pushed both sets to tiebreakers.
Fonseca might not be able to break Alcaraz or take him down in a tiebreaker, which is why I am not backing him to win a set. However, Fonseca should use his strong serve and athleticism to compete with Alcaraz from start to finish. That is why my best bet is on Fonseca to win over 8.5 games against Alcaraz. If Fonseca can just push one set to a tiebreaker, that would only require him to win three games in a second set. The youngster continues to improve every time we watch him play, and I will continue to ride that train here in Miami.
