“Hangman” Adam Page may be stepping away from AEW following his brutal loss at Revolution, according to a new report. In a Texas Death Match against MJF for the AEW World Championship, Page came up short—and due to the stipulation he imposed, he is now barred from challenging for the title.
Now, according to Fightful Select, Page is expected to take time off from AEW programming.

Report: “Hangman” Adam Page Expected To Take Time Away From AEW
Page has been a workhorse for AEW and one of the most prominent figures on weekly television. He competed in 46 matches in 2025 and already 11 in 2026, including the loss at AEW Revolution. Amazingly, during that span dating back to 2025, his Texas Death Match loss to MJF was only his second singles defeat, with the other coming at Full Gear against Samoa Joe in a cage match.
As we detailed in our recent article about Page potentially still being able to challenge for the AEW World Title, there has been plenty of speculation about the direction of his character moving forward. Could Page turn heel? Could he shift his focus to one of the mid-card titles, like the TNT Championship? At least per this report from Fightful, that direction will include time away from AEW television.
I think this is a great move for multiple reasons. First, Page is due for some rest. He, along with Jon Moxley, is widely regarded as one of AEW’s biggest workhorses. With the roster being so deep, AEW can afford to let Page rest up and recover from the grind of being a weekly mainstay. AEW Revolution also featured several returns, as Will Ospreay, Adam Copeland, and Christian Cage all made appearances after extended absences.
Second, it could help reset his character. I firmly believe that when Page does return, he’ll be a heel once again. At AEW All In: Texas, Page officially made the switch to a babyface ahead of his brutal Texas Death Match against Moxley. If he ever wants to challenge for the AEW World Championship again, turning heel and going back on his word would make a lot of sense. Personally, I think Page does his best work as a heel, and I’d be excited to see him return to that character once again.
While the timing of his absence is unknown, more clarity should emerge in the coming weeks on AEW Dynamite and AEW Collision.
