One of the most anticipated films of the year, Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three, just had its first trailer released. Here is a first look at the trailer and more information on the film.
Denis Villeneuve’s Dune trilogy is officially set for the third and final chapter. Both films in the series so far have been incredibly successful, both commercially and critically. Dune and Dune: Part Two have both dominated the worldwide box office and have been nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards. Readers of Frank Herbert’s Dune Messiah know that this book is much harder to translate to film. However, Villeneuve has done the first two so masterfully that there is no reason to doubt his abilities now.
Many of the biggest stars from the first two films will be returning, including Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin and Rebecca Ferguson. Additionally, Jason Momoa will be returning as Duncan Idaho after not appearing in Dune: Part Two. There will also be a couple of key additions to the cast for this new entry. Anya Taylor-Joy will be playing a massive role as Alia Atreides after only having a non-speaking role in the second film. Then, Robert Pattinson will be starring as Scytale, the main villain of this chapter.

When does Dune: Part Three come out in theaters?
Dune: Part Three is currently set to release on Dec. 18th, 2026. However, there is some speculation that it might move up a weekend on the release calendar, given the fact that Avengers: Doomsday is also set to be released that same weekend. It would be a bit of a shock if two of the biggest films of the year ended up being released on the same weekend.

However, Denis Villeneuve opted to split the first book into two films to be able to tell more of the story. Dune: Part Three, however, will be based on the second book in the series, Dune Messiah.
