Jeff’s King of the Court Pick for Tuesday, March 17: Nikola Jokic
Nikola Jokic has claimed the King of the Court crown just once this season, all the way back in early November. It’s about time that changes.
With Denver fighting for playoff positioning, Jokic has put the team on his back down the stretch. The three-time MVP has racked up at least 51 points, rebounds and assists in four of his last five outings, establishing a ridiculously high floor. The Joker is on pace to average a triple-double for the second straight season. What’s even more impressive is how much he fills up the stat sheet with such a small usage rate. Jokic’s usage hasn’t surpassed 29% in four straight outings, which is quite low compared to other stars across the league.
On Tuesday, the PRA machine takes on Philadelphia. While the Sixers are without Tyrese Maxey at the moment, they have won three of their last four contests. Denver will need to rely upon the best player in the league once again to get the W, which should result in another massive statistical output for Jokic.
