Big Ten powerhouses, No. 3 Michigan and No. 18 Purdue, will meet Sunday afternoon in the conference championship game at Chicago’s United Center.
Michigan (31–2, 1st Big Ten) is eyeing its second straight Big Ten title, reaching the finale with wins over Ohio State and Wisconsin. Purdue (26–8, 6th Big Ten) is challenging for its first conference title since 2023, taking down Northwestern, Nebraska, and UCLA to get there.
The Wolverines dominated their lone regular-season matchup in West Lafayette, Indiana, cruising to a 91–80 victory on February 17.
Tipoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET. Michigan enters as a 5.5-point favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook, while Purdue sits as a +220 underdog. The game total is set at 150.5 points.

Despite stumbling the regular-season’s finish line, Purdue has reminded the nation why it’s still a hardwood heavyweight. The Boilermakers bulldozed through their side of the Big Ten bracket — including a 16-point thumping of No. 11 Nebraska — to reach their first conference championship game since winning it all in 2023.
Purdue enters Sunday’s finale with a 26–8 record and 13–7 mark in conference play, operating behind one of the most calculated offenses in the country. The program ranks second nationally in KenPom’s offensive rating, 15th in field-goal percentage, and 20th in three-point accuracy. Orchestrating it all is Big Ten First Team member Braden Smith, who averages 14.3 points and nine assists per game — trailing only Michigan State’s Jeremy Fears Jr. for the national lead.
While the Boilermakers feature a sound defense, and particularly strong rebounding, they will have to be on their A-game in Sunday’s rematch with Michigan. In their first meeting on February 17, Purdue offered little resistance as the Wolverines piled up 91 points on 53% from the field and 57% from downtown on its home court.

Michigan is as formidable as they come. The Wolverines ravaged through the college basketball landscape this season, entering Sunday’s finale with a near-spotless 31–2 record and 19–1 mark in conference play. After dispatching Ohio State and Wisconsin, they’re just one win away from capturing back-to-back Big Ten crowns.
Playing at a caffeinated pace, Michigan’s uber-efficient offense ranks ninth nationally in scoring, eighth in field-goal percentage, and fourth in assists per game. Leading the charge is Big Ten Player of the Year Yaxel Lendeborg, who averages 14.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.
Not to be outdone, the team is even more imposing on the other end. Three of the five players named to the Big Ten All-Defensive Team are wearing a Wolverines uniform, including Lendeborg, Morez Johnson Jr., and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year Aday Mara. The 7-foot-3 junior leads the conference — and ranks sixth nationally — with 2.6 blocks per game. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Wolverines boast the second-lowest opponent field-goal percentage in the country.
Purdue vs. Michigan Pick, Best Bet
Michigan is really good at speeding teams up, forcing bad shots, and dominating the paint — their first meeting with Purdue being a case in point. The Wolverines appear too complete, loaded with offensive firepower and defensive maniacs, for the Boilermakers to keep up.
Michigan’s first victory over Purdue came by 11 points on the road — their second should come by at least six in Sunday’s championship showdown.
