The full NCAA Tournament bracket has been established, and the stage is set for this year’s iteration of March Madness. Facing off in the East Region of the bracket, the Connecticut Huskies will enter as the 2-seed in this portion of the graphic and face off with the 15th-seeded Furman Paladins.

Connecticut Huskies vs. Furman Paladins Opening Odds

Looking at the odds on DraftKings Sportsbook, Connecticut opens as an 18.5-point favorite over Furman with the game total set at 136.5.

Connecticut finished the season ranked sixth in the AP Poll with a 29-5 record, and fell at the hands of St. John’s in the Big East Championship. Danny Hurley’s squad is just one season removed from winning back-to-back National Championships and are looking to return to this level of success. They rank 11th in opponents’ points per game, and can get the job done on both sides of the floor.

The Furman Paladins earned their trip to the NCAA Tournament by winning the Southern Conference Tournament. Bob Richey’s squad went 22-12 this season, and this marks their first time back in the NCAA Tournament since 2022-23.

The winner of this matchup will play the winner of 7-seeded UCLA vs. 10-seeded UCF in the round of 32. The opening two rounds will be held in Greenville, South Carolina at Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Furman University is located less than seven miles away from the arena, so expect plenty of Paladins faithful to make their voices heard.
