Collin Morikawa was one of the favorites for THE PLAYERS Championship, but now the 29-year-old has withdrawn from the high profile event with a back issue.
Morikawa has been playing some amazing golf the past month, winning the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, then finishing T7 at the Genesis and fifth at last week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational. Morikawa also wound up T10 at last year’s tournament at the famous TPC Sawgrass, and he might have won the event, if not for a dreadful 5-over in the third round on moving day. That’s likely why Morikawa was the most-popular outright bet on the DraftKings Sportsbook, with 14% of the handle coming in on the American as of Wednesday afternoon.
With Morikawa’s odds now off the board, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Russell Henley are the live betting favorites at the top of the board.
