Towson vs. Hofstra College Basketball prediction, preview
The top-two seeds in the CAA have been knocked off, leaving the 3-seeded Pride as the highest remaining team in the field. It was Towson that took down the 2-seed on Sunday, in blowout fashion. The Tigers beat Charleston by 25 points, but weren’t the only team to win a blowout on Sunday. Hofstra also demolished William & Mary by 31 points to advance.
Blowouts are a theme here. When Hofstra and Towson met last month, the Pride won at home by a final score of 71-49. Hofstra swept the season series between the two teams, also winning on the road at Towson by double digits. I’m buying into the Pride owning this matchup, and metrics sites seem to as well.
KenPom prices Hofstra as a favorite of -6 in the game, and most other notable sites are projecting the same or an even larger margin of victory. Hofstra is the significantly higher ranked team on both sides of the ball on KenPom and have a nice path to an NCAA Tournament appearance now. I’ll lay the points with the Pride and think they are a solid bet to go on to win the CAA and go dancing.
