Max Holloway To Win By Decision (+240)
Max Holloway is a living legend. He has done it all. Holloway was the Undisputed Featherweight Champion from 2016 to 2019, and now, seven years later, still holds a title and is headlining a UFC numbered event. But since losing to Ilia Topuria at UFC 308, Holloway has turned the page and is officially a UFC Lightweight competitor. He has won his last two Lightweight bouts and did so against a few legends in Justin Gaethje (current Interim Champion) and former Interim title holder Dustin Poirier.
Although Holloway is 14 years into his UFC career, he has proven to be as hungry as ever to achieve his next massive goal of becoming a two-division Undisputed Champion. If Holloway wants to keep that dream alive, a win against Oliveira is necessary. Holloway knocked out Oliveira in August 2015. But then things were different. Both fighters were young and had dreams of becoming champions. Oliveira and Holloway enter this fight as former champions and two of the greatest fighters to ever grace the UFC Octagon.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Holloway is a -215 favorite with Oliveira being the underdog at +165. This fight has an over/under of 2.5 rounds, with the over being -135. Five of Oliveira’s last six victories have come by finish, but Holloway has only lost via knockout or submission twice in his career. The biggest advantage in this contest is held by Holloway, and it is his unreal striking ability. Holloway is one of the best strikers in MMA history, and although Oliveira is skilled on the feet, it is unlikely that he will be able to hurt Holloway. I’m taking Holloway to win by decision, which is +240, since five of his previous seven wins have come on the judges’ scorecards.
