Newcastle vs. Manchester City prediction, pick for Saturday 3/7/26

Our eight FA Cup Round 5 matchups bring some great draws, but none is more high-powered than this matchup between Newcastle United and Manchester City. The defending Premier League champion City will face the defending EFL Cup winners Newcastle, and there’s a whole heap of talent to watch to close Saturday’s slate.

Man City is a +110 ML favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook. A Newcastle upset is priced at +215 odds, with the draw at +280. The over/under for this game is set at 3.5 goals. Let’s get into a prediction and a pick for this matchup.

Newcastle vs. Manchester City prediction, pick

Newcastle sure hoped for a better EPL season, as they currently sit in 12th place with a negative goal differential. Yet they continue to find ways to come up in the big games, advancing to the Champions League knockout stages while pulling off an upset over Aston Villa to reach Round 5 in the FA Cup. They’ll look to avenge their EFL Cup elimination at the hands of Manchester City in this one.

Once again, City are marching toward more hardware. They haven’t lost in 10 matches across all competitions as they chase the chance at another domestic treble. City are within striking distance of Arsenal for the EPL trophy, and have a date with the Gunners on March 22 for the EFL Cup trophy. With plenty of big clubs still in the FA Cup, City will push and push to maintain their standard of excellence.

Injuries to Bruno Guimarães, Fabian Schär and Tino Livramento have sorely tested Newcastle’s depth. But that didn’t stop them from pulling off an incredible win over Manchester United in their last EPL game.

They do have Anthony Gordon, who has shown an uncanny ability to step up in big games. But this is a tough task.

City are streaking at the right time. The defense is locked in with Rodri controlling things above the back line, Antoine Semenyo has fit the attack like a glove, and Manchester City is streaking toward another trophy. I don’t anticipate Newcastle stopping them.

Best Bet: Manchester City Moneyline (+110)
