The Charlotte Hornets are one of the league’s elite teams since the start of 2026 with the No. 1 offensive rating over this span and a six-game winning streak to boot. Meanwhile, they’re quickly gaining ground on the Miami Heat, who have won three straight games of their own but are only two games ahead for the eighth seed.

This game tonight should be a thrilling one for a multitude of reasons. First off, the Heat and Hornets rank second and 11th in PPG this season, and Charlotte actually sits fourth in the stat since the team’s turnaround began on New Year’s Day. Moreover, Miami pushes the temp and ranks tops in the entire NBA in pace, so projecting plenty of possessions feels like a sharp call as these talented offenses go toe-to-toe in what should be a shootout. With that in mind, there should be some extra opportunities for players to pull down rebounds.
It’s been an odd campaign for Heat big man Kel’el Ware, who is sometimes a key option on this team but occasionally finds his share of minutes quite limited. Overall, the second-year pro averages 11.4 points and 9.5 rebounds in just 22.4 minutes a night, career-best numbers across the board. He flashes plenty of upside as a rookie and continues to do so now, and he arguably deserves much more playing time for Miami. When he does get it, as he has over the last three games, the results speak for themselves — Ware has three straight double-doubles in those contests.
There’s reason to believe he gets plenty of playing time tonight against a Hornets roster that’s quite strong in the frontcourt. Charlotte is second among all teams in REB% and fourth in total rebounds per game, so it would make sense to see Erik Spoelstra give his young big man extra responsibilities to counteract a strength of Miami’s opponent. Even if Ware doesn’t see the floor for nearly 30 minutes and instead gets playing time around his usual average though, he can still come up big with double-digit rebounds as seen with this prop bet.
In seven appearances since the All-Star break, Ware has averaged 11.4 rebounds per game despite his share of minutes still sitting at 22.6 per contest. He’s recorded double-digit boards in five of those seven contests with totals of 12, 15, eight, six, 15, 13 and 11. Plus, he played just over 12 minutes in the game in which he pulled down only six rebounds. Given the recent success on the glass, the Heat should count on him here tonight. I expect Ware to haul in double-digit boards in a hard-fought battle, cashing this prop at plus odds.
