Another week, another terrific episode of Survivor. I don’t want to get ahead of myself, but Season 50 is shaping up to be an all-timer. On Wednesday, it was Savannah, last season’s winner, that got her torch snuffed. With tribes getting swapped next week, it’s anyone’s guess as to what will go down before the merge.
With that being said, there are still some early favorites worth keeping an eye on. On the flip side, some players already look like absolute longshots. Let’s break it all down with a look at who helped, or hurt, their chances at winning Survivor 50.

Biggest Risers
Q (+8)
Q 2.0 has been a breath of fresh air so far. That’s not to say I don’t miss the Season 46 version. You remember him, right – the guy causing chaos at tribal and scrambling for immunity idols? That version of Mr. Burdette hasn’t shown up on 50, at least not yet. In the meantime, we’ve gotten a different side of this fan favorite. Q is firmly entrenched with old-schoolers Colby and Steph. Scenes with the three of them working hard, while Rizo loafs around at camp, have been intriguing to say the least.
Not to get too meta, but I’m liking the edit so far for Q. He’s had plenty of discussions about playing a more controlled game, all while siding with dependable, trustworthy allies. It also looks like he and Colby were able to convince Rizo to join their voting bloc. There’s some advantage uncertainty at Vatu’s camp (more on that later). However, the upcoming tribe swap could limit any potential damage. I still have some long-term skepticism, but Q has undoubtedly boosted his stock over the last two weeks.
Aubry (+6)
What a roller coaster of an episode for Aubry. At the beginning, she looked like a clear-cut vote out if Vatu were to lose immunity. In fact, tribe mates even searched through her bag out of fear that she had an advantage. Fortunately, they found nothing. This all occurred prior to Christian finding, and then gifting Aubry, the Billie Eilish Boomerang Idol at Cila’s beach. That places the former runner-up in a good spot moving forward.
It’s worth noting that Aubry has plenty to gain from a potential swap. It’s not as if she was particularly well-liked on Vatu. Could a link-up with Christian or old cast mate Rick Devens be in the works? It’s certainly possible. No matter what happens, Aubry should be safe for another few votes if she plays her cards right. After that, it’s a clear path to the merge. What looked like a brief stop on Fiji last week could turn into a prolonged stay.
Biggest Fallers
Chrissy (-9)
I was high on Chrissy entering the preseason. The hope was that a kinder, gentler approach would help her out. It seems like she’s gone almost too hard into that direction. Dee had a telling confessional in which she referred to the 54-year-old as a “camp mom”, and not in the sweet, sentimental way. From what we saw on Wednesday, Chrissy came off as more overbearing and bossy. Without any other content, positive or negative, it’s hard to get excited about her chances at winning.
Kamilla (-6) and Tiffany (-8)
It’s only natural that I lump these two non-entities together to cap things off. Tiffany was an early favorite, mainly due to her under the radar status and relative obscurity. Unfortunately, she’s barely registered a blip on the radar four hours into the season. Zero confessionals in Episode 2 doesn’t suggest a winning game, let alone merge appearance, for the Season 46 alum.
As for Kamilla, I was hoping we’d get more out of her on Wednesday. Last week, her number one ally Kyle was pulled from the game due to an Achilles injury. Although this led to an emotional moment on the mat, there wasn’t much else throughout the rest of the episode. On paper, Kamilla looks like the kind of player that would thrive in a returnee season. Still, there’s nothing we’ve seen so far that suggests an extended run.
