USC vs. Washington College Basketball prediction, preview

The wheels seem to be falling off this season for the Trojans, who have now lost five games in a row. It’s not just the losses piling up towards USC’s record, but it continues to part ways with its most talented players. Rodney Rice was the leading scorer for the Trojans in November, but suffered a season-ending shoulder injury. Chad Baker-Mazara has been USC’s leading scorer since, but this week the 26-year-old was asked to leave the team.

That leaves the Trojans really shorthanded when it comes to wing scoring down the home stretch of the season. I’m expecting a rough month of March for this team, starting on Wednesday night at Alaska Airlines Arena. The Huskies are off a bad home loss to Wisconsin on Saturday, getting embarrassed by the Badgers by 17 points.

I’m expecting a nice bounce-back from Washington on its home floor against a team headed in the wrong direction. The Huskies have a solid defense, ranking 43rd in efficiency on KenPom. I expect the defense to carry this team at home against a USC offense that barely ranks within the top-100 on KenPom, and now losses its top scorer.

Washington is 12-4 as the favorite this season, and I expect them to grab an early lead and not look back. I’ll back the Huskies on the double result to lead and halftime and win the game. If you prefer a straight moneyline parlay, I’d consider pairing Washington with either Arkansas or Indiana, who I feel are also in strong spots at home.

CBB Pick: Washington Halftime/Fulltime (-120)
