Despite entering the campaign with hopes of taking a step forward with their young core, the Portland Trail Blazers are only 29-33 overall and stuck at 10th in the Western Conference standings. Tonight, they’ll face off against a Memphis Grizzlies unit that’s looking toward the future of the franchise with a stockpile of draft picks in their coffers and plenty of young players on the floor.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Portland is a 10.5-point favorite on the road with -425 odds to win on the Moneyline. The game total is set at 232.5 combined points.
Here are the top Trail Blazers vs. Grizzlies prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for this matchup.
Best Trail Blazers vs. Grizzlies player prop bets
Donovan Clingan 14+ rebounds (-120)
It feels a little bit bold to take a line of 14+ rebounds at -120 odds, but Donovan Clingan is positioned for an absolutely massive evening on the glass. The Grizzlies’ rotation is largely decimated, meaning Olivier-Maxence Prosper or Taylor Hendricks is likely to start at center in this matchup. It’s a brutal scene for Memphis, but one which the Trail Blazers’ young big man can capitalize on to record a ridiculous stat line. Clingan averages 11.5 rebounds this season, third-most of any player in the NBA. That’s quite an impressive feat for any center, much less a sophomore who’s only 22 years old.
The 14+ rebounds mark is a high bar for him to clear this evening, but there have been some game-breaking performances from the budding star in recent months. He just posted 15 points and 15 boards in his most recent game on Sunday, and he posted 14 or more rebounds a total of 12 times through January and February. Some high marks over that span includes games of 20, 19, 18, 17 (three times) and 16 rebounds (twice). Without much in the way of standout talent in the opposing frontcourt tonight, Clingan should gobble up chances on the glass.
Cam Spencer under 12.5 points (-129)
The Grizzlies are undermanned and far outmatched tonight, but I do still see a little bit of value on the board here for one of their players. Cam Spencer has been productive for the most part this season as one of few bright spots for Memphis, averaging 11.4 points and shooting 44.3% from beyond the arc. However, the second-year guard has faded hard over the last month. Over the course of seven games since the All-Star break, he’s stayed under tonight’s line of 12.5 points in six of those appearances with his share of minutes capped in the mid-20s.
While he could see the floor more tonight with Cedric Coward, Scotty Pippen Jr. and Ty Jerome all doubtful to play, the recent results for Spencer simply haven’t stood out. He’s tallied totals of 10, 10, 25, five, seven, zero, and 10 points since the season resumed. Beyond that, he’s stayed under this line of 12.5 points in 37/58 total appearances on the season. Yes, he could see a bump in his role given all the injuries, and the defensive matchup is a positive one. That’s still not enough for me to believe he gets over this line though, so we’re sticking with a fade.
