A matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks usually wouldn’t spark much fear this season, but with Giannis Antetokounmpo now back on the floor for his team, this unit has become a good deal more imposing. Tonight, these two sides face off in a game that will likely have an impact on the Eastern Conference’s Play-In Tournament picture.

Jonathan Kuminga 15+ points (+104)
There’s no better time than now to buy back in on Jonathan Kuminga stock. The former Golden State Warrior came over to Atlanta as the headlining piece in the Kristaps Porzingis trade, and while it took a while for him to debut due to injury, the young forward has looked excellent across a limited sample. Kuminga has played just three games with one start, getting 26.7 minutes a game. With those minutes, he’s scored 20, 17 and 27 points with rebounding totals of seven, nine, and seven. Those marks are good for averages of 21.3 points and 7.7 boards a night, shooting an absurd 67.7% from the field with his opportunities. How’s that for an excellent start to his tenure?
There’s no telling whether this will continue, but Kuminga does bring some additional rim pressure in the form of a big 6-foot-7 body to this Hawks team. He’s looked quite like the player who was promised with the No. 7 selection in the 2021 NBA Draft, so perhaps he’s found a home that will play to his strengths. Atlanta does average the most assists per game of any NBA team this season with the second-best AST/FGM ratio, so passers are finding him open as a cutter to play off his strengths. After notching three games of 15+ points with the Hawks and producing 24 points in his lone meeting against the Bucks back in October, I like Kuminga’s chances to get to that mark again at plus odds.
Ryan Rollins 18+ points (+105)
Try saying “plus odds points prop” three times as quickly as you can. It may be a tongue twister, but we’ve got another one here with Bucks guard Ryan Rollins. The fifth-year standout has become one of the most reliable players on this roster with a career-best season of 16.8 points and 5.4 assists a game, shooting 46.6% overall and 41.1% from deep. His previous career-best marks? Just 6.2 points and 1.9 dimes last year. The growth of the 23-year-old has been very fun to watch, and while his last couple of games have been unimpressive in the scoring column, he came out of the All-Star break hot with 27, 21, 21 and 18 points in four consecutive games.
After scoring just 11 and five points in a back-to-back earlier this week, why should we take him to score 18+ tonight? Well, second-leading scorer Kevin Porter Jr. is out tonight, leaving Rollins to play the role of primary guard. Yes, Antetokounmpo did return the other day, but even his minutes may be capped at around 25 or so as he works his way back from injury. When Porter Jr. misses time, Rollins’ 19.0 PPG are the second-most of any player on the Bucks behind only the Greek Freak himself. Given that factor and that the Hawks allow the ninth-most points to point guards at 23.39 per game, I think Rollins is nicely positioned for a bounce-back game tonight, especially against an Atlanta defense that has largely struggled this season.
