Tyrese Maxey U 6.5 Assists (+111)
With Joel Embiid (oblique), Paul George (suspension) and VJ Edgecombe (back) out, Maxey has huge upside as a scorer, but there are concerns about him as a playmaker. Maxey has made one start without Embiid, George and Edgecombe this season and Maxey only finished with four assists that night. The guard has made 20 starts without Embiid and George, and Maxey is averaging 5.7 assists per game in those tilts, which is a big dip from his 6.7 average for the season.
Embiid, George and Edgecombe have accounted for 45% of Maxey’s assists this season and with those three missing, the 76ers severely lack scorers for Maxey to feed. The Kentucky product should be focused on scoring the ball himself tonight and Maxey for under 6.5 assists at this plus-money price is a strong wager.
Quentin Grimes U 2.5 Made Three-Pointers (-114)
Grimes should start tonight with the 76ers understaffed and this is a great matchup vs. the Jazz’s league-worst defense. However, he has struggled mightily as an outside shooter this season. Grimes is shooting just 34% on three-pointers and he has been even worse when starting, shooting an abysmal 18% from deep in his eight starts.
In those eight starts, Grimes has only cleared 2.5 made three-pointers once and he is averaging just 1.0 made three-pointer per game. Grimes may finish with a strong scoring total tonight, but him lighting it up from deep feels unlikely and he is a great bet for this under.
Kyle Filipowski O 13.5 Points (-121)
With Lauri Markkanen (hip) and Jusuf Nurkic (nose) out for five of the Jazz’s last six games, Filipowski is averaging 15.8 PPG as the team’s starting center. The 22-year-old has cleared 13.5 points in three of these five games, including 19 points vs. the Nuggets on Monday. This season, Filipowski is shooting 49% from the field and he is handling an 18.9% usage rate.
Both Markkanen and Nurkic will remain out tonight. Filipowski should see around 30 minutes barring a blowout and this is a plus matchup, as the 76ers rank 25th in defensive rating over their last 10 games and they are playing their second game in two nights. Filipowski will be one of Utah’s main options and at least 14 points is very obtainable for the big man.
