Seton Hall vs. Xavier College Basketball prediction, preview
I backed Xavier to snap a three-game losing streak on Saturday afternoon with success, as the Musketeers pulled away at home against Georgetown. But the Hoyas are a fade right now, with their best player out for the season and the team spiraling. Now Seton Hall comes in as one of the best road best in the country, and coming off a really tough loss on Saturday.
As the Pirates always seemingly do, they took UConn down to the wire yet again in Storrs. They easily covered the 14-point spread, but were threatening to win outright the majority of the way, before coming undone late. Now Seton Hall goes to Xavier, looking to bounce-back and get a win, currently sitting on the wrong side of the bubble with a lot of work to do.
I don’t have much negative to say about Xavier, which has been a tough team to figure out this season. But generally the Musketeers have stepped up in desperation spots, and coming off a win doesn’t signify that to me. Leaving New Jersey has actually been the best time to back Seton Hall, putting up insane numbers from a betting standpoint.
The Pirates are 11-2 ATS when playing away from home, including 8-2 ATS in true road games. They are also 15-4 this season when priced as the favorite, which they are on Tuesday, by a slim margin. Seton Hall is the far superior defensive team, and I expect it to earn extra possessions on the glass with a nice size advantage.
