Perhaps the best story of the 2025-26 college basketball season is in the MAC. The Miami (OH) RedHawks are 29-0 with two games remaining in the regular season.

The next challenger is Toledo, who is 16-13 overall and 10-6 in conference. This is the second matchup between these squads, as Miami (OH) won the first round 87-73.

The RedHawks are 8.5-point favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook. The game total is set at 162.5 points.

Here’s my prediction, preview and pick for Tuesday’s Miami (OH) vs. Toledo matchup.

Miami (OH) vs. Toledo prediction, preview

Miami (OH) will be the most discussed team in the country if it enters the NCAA Tournament undefeated. It’s already drawn some attention with a 29-0 record, with analysts debating whether the RedHawks are an at-large team if they lose their conference tournament.

That’s a conversation for another day, however. The RedHawks still need to complete the undefeated regular season. Two games remain, with the first being at home against Toledo.

The Rockets are 16-13 overall and have won four of their last five games. That said, it lost by 14 to Miami (OH) at home in early January, and is 0-1 against ranked opponents this season (No. 9 Michigan State).

The MAC has levels to its standings. Miami (OH), of course, stands alone on top, but Akron (24-5, 15-1) and Kent State (21-8, 12-4) are on the second tier. Toledo falls into the third tier, which isn’t bad, but there’s a steep drop-off from Kent State to Toledo. Miami (OH) defeated Kent State in overtime and Akron by three points earlier this season. The same cannot be said about Toledo.

The Rockets lost both matchups with Kent State by three points and its only game against Akron by 10 points. Toledo is also on the road for this game against Miami (OH). It’s 5-8 on the road vs. 10-4 at home.

Miami (OH) vs. Toledo pick, best bet

It’s hard to bet against the RedHawks at this point. They’re bound to lose eventually, even if that doesn’t come until the NCAA Tournament, but tonight won’t be the night. The win streak continues as they hit 30-0.

Covering the spread is likely, too, as Miami (OH) did so on the road. Now at home, the team will have the crowd to aid in the victory.

Best bet: Miami (OH) -8.5 (-110)
