Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has been downgraded to questionable for Tuesday’s game vs. the Memphis Grizzlies due to injury maintenance.
Edwards initially entered the day without a designation on the NBA injury report, but he was added as questionable with roughly two hours remaining until tip-off. It’s injury maintenance for the star’s foot — the team seems to be managing a toe issue which has sidelined him at various points this season, including for a previous matchup with the Grizzlies back in December.
Bones Hyland entered the starting five in a couple of past contests Edwards missed, but it’s possible that Ayo Dosunmu could get the starting nod instead tonight in a guard-heavy lineup. It’s also worth noting that in 10 games without Edwards active this season, Jaden McDaniels sees a boost to 18.8 PPG while Donte DiVincenzo bumps his scoring average to 16.1 PPG.
Edwards, 24 years old, is in the midst of a career-best campaign with 29.5 PPG on a 49.3% FG% and 39.8% 3P%. The wing also pitches in 5.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists a night. He’s made a real case for yet another All-NBA selection and has helped to catapult his team into the upper half of the Western Conference.
The Timberwolves are 38-23 on the season and enter as 13.5-point favorites at home against the Grizzlies tonight on DraftKings Sportsbook.
