BREAK IT DOWN:

(stats taken from DraftKings Sportsbook’s Stats Hub)

Nikola Jokic Triple-Double, Yes (-138): I’m honestly surprised this prop isn’t even more chalk, but I get the popularity. The Nuggets have owned the Utah Jazz lately, winning seven straight in this matchup, and Jokic has been, well… Jokic. Over his last five against Utah, The Joker is averaging 26.8 PPG, 15 RPG, and 9.2 APG, with two triple-doubles mixed in there. On the season, he’s averaging a triple-double, and the scoring has been ridiculously steady. He’s dropped 30+ in four of his last five and is pulling down a massive 14.2 boards per game over that same stretch. A couple more assists in those outings and we’re talking about four straight triple-doubles. Now he gets a Jazz team allowing the most assists to opponents in the league. The setup couldn’t be cleaner, and Jokic is in prime position to stuff the stat sheet again.

Reed Sheppard 4+ Three Pointers Made (+140): Sure, I could break down 3+ threes here… but that’s way too boring for me on this fine Monday. Let’s have some fun with it. The Rockets’ sophomore was lights out from deep in February, knocking down 41.9% of his attempts, and he comes into tonight’s matchup with the Wizards on a heater. Sheppard has hit 4+ threes in four straight games, including an absolute explosion against the Kings last Wednesday. He’s also taken advantage of softer spots, scoring 15+ points in four of Houston’s last five games against teams with losing records. And tonight’s matchup? Not exactly intimidating. The Wizards rank 23rd in opponent three-point percentage (36.6%) and are second-to-last in opponent points per game (123.0). The value’s there, and I, for one, love tailing a guy who’s this hot from deep.

Kevin Durant 25+ Points (-111): I’ll start with this: KD has scored 30+ in seven of his last eight road games. The man clearly doesn’t mind a little hostile environment. He’s averaging 26.2 PPG on the season and continues to be one of the most reliable, efficient scorers in the league. In February, Durant shot 50.8% from the field, and he’s putting up 29.3 PPG coming out of the All-Star break. Just smooth, steady production. Now he gets the Wizards, whose — and as mentioned above — defense has been generous all year. Washington is allowing 44.2 field goals per game (27th), owns a 120.1 defensive rating (28th), and enters this one on a four-game skid. Elite scorer. Struggling defense. Road KD. I get why the public is backing this one, and I’m right there with them.
