The Celtics are playing their second game in two nights after beating the 76ers on Sunday and Boston will be without Brown for Monday’s matchup vs. the Bucks due to an illness. Also, Neemias Queta will be out for rest purposes and Jayson Tatum remains sidelined as he continues to work his way back from the torn Achilles he suffered last season.
Brown has been one of the most prolific scorers in the NBA this season, averaging a career-high 29 PPG. The wing is also averaging 7.1 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game, both of which are also career highs. Brown ranks second in the league in usage rate this season at 35.7% and with him out, the Celtics will rely on Derrick White ($8,200) and Payton Pritchard ($7,200).
With Brown inactive this season, White and Pritchard are leading Boston with 23.3 and 20.0 PPG, respectively. In Brown’s absence, both players are great DFS options for Monday night’s four-game slate on DraftKings. With Queta getting the night off, Nikola Vucevic ($6,200) should draw his first start in a Celtics uniform, making him also an attractive DFS target. Despite playing behind Queta and coming off the bench, Vucevic has tallied back-to-back double-doubles.
Boston is 5-1 with Brown inactive this season and all five of those victories have been by double digits. Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,000, calf) is making his return for the Bucks, but Milwaukee is only 15-15 with him active this season. The Celtics are 1.5-point favorites for this matchup on DraftKings Sportsbook and backing them to cover this small line makes sense tonight, despite Brown’s absence.
