Prediction, pick for Daniel Zellhuber vs. King Green at UFC Mexico

A rising prospect faces an experienced veteran in the lightweight division Saturday night, as Daniel Zellhuber takes on King Green at UFC Mexico.

Zellhuber (15–3, 3–3 UFC) will attempt to bounce back from consecutive losses, capped by a unanimous decision loss to Michael Johnson last July. Green (33–17–1, 14–12–1 UFC [1 NC]) will look to build off a split-decision win over Lance Gibson Jr. in December, which snapped a two-fight skid.

Zellhuber enters as a hefty -500 moneyline favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook, while Green sits as a +380 underdog. The total is set at 2.5 rounds.

Zellhuber vs. Green Preview

Daniel Zellhuber

Daniel Zellhuber is far more experienced than his age would suggest. The Mexican lightweight made his professional debut at just 17 years old and, now 26, has already graduated from Dana White’s Contender Series and earned three Fight Night bonuses in six UFC bouts.

A high-octane freestyle fighter, “Golden Boy” has scored 10 of his 15 professional wins by stoppage, including seven knockouts and three submissions — five of them in the first round.

While his momentum slowed from consecutive losses, Zellhuber showcased his big-fight potential and unwavering resilience in an instant classic against Esteban Ribovics last September — albeit in a split-decision loss.

King Green

It’s hard to find a more seasoned veteran than The Fighter Formerly Known as Bobby Green. In 27 trips to the Octagon since his UFC debut in February 2013, Green has piled up the fourth-most significant strikes in UFC history.

At 39, Green remains a frenzied striker and creative grappler, a fan-friendly style that has produced 20 finishes in 33 professional wins — including 11 knockouts and nine submissions.

Despite returning to the win column via split decision against Lance Gibson Jr. in December, Green’s fading durability in the twilight of his career is a serious concern. Since February 2022, Green has gone just 4–5–1, with all five losses coming by stoppage — four of them in the first round.

Zellhuber vs. Green Pick, Best Bet

Saturday night presents “Golden Boy” with the golden opportunity to bounce back against a fading veteran with an increasingly vulnerable chin. With the home crowd rallying behind him, expect Daniel Zellhuber to leave no doubt and stop King Green inside the distance.

Best Bet: Daniel Zellhuber to Win by KO/TKO/DQ or Submission (+110)
