On one hand, Man United are thriving right now. They are unbeaten since the takeover of Michael Carrick with five wins and a draw in six matches. That recent run of form has put them in a great position to finish in the top five and secure a place in next season’s Champions League.
On the other hand, there’s Crystal Palace. Things have been rocky at the club in the last few months, and manager Oliver Glasner has announced that he’s leaving the club at the end of the season. Glasner and Palace seem to have disagreed on the direction of the club going forward, and it’s become very evident in the media that there is tension behind the scenes. Some of those bad vibes seem to have found their way onto the pitch, as Palace have only won two of their last 12 Premier League matches. They also suffered the biggest upset in FA Cup history in the middle of that run, losing to sixth division Macclesfield.
Things haven’t been going well for the club on all fronts in 2026, although they are still alive in the UEFA Conference League.
Man United will have the rest advantage for this one, having last played on Monday while Palace played in Europe on Thursday. I expect the Red Devils to handle business, and for at least two goals to be scored in the game. Man United are the only unbeaten Premier League team in 2026, and I expect them to continue that run with a win on Sunday against a Palace team in turmoil.
