The relegation zone is looming. With 11 games left to play in the Premier League season, teams at the bottom of the table are doing the math and figuring out how to stay in the top flight. Brighton and Nottingham Forest are two such teams, both within striking distance of the bottom three. Who wins out in the battle to avoid relegation?

Brighton is a +105 ML favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook. A Nottingham Forest upset is priced at +260 odds, with the draw at +255. The over/under for this game is set at 2.5 goals. Let’s get into a prediction and a pick for this matchup.

Brighton vs. Nottingham Forest prediction, pick

Brighton must feel like they’ve hit a bad run of luck. They’re the only team in the bottom half of the table with a positive goal differential, and have brought a strong defense to the table along with a solid attack. But results are results, and they find themselves 14th in the table. Sitting nine points ahead of the relegation zone, their safety is not yet sealed.

Nottingham Forest is in a much more dangerous position. With 27 points on the season, they’re 17th in the table, and the relegation teams are breathing down their neck. A win here would put them five points ahead of West Ham and give them some serious cushion heading into the final ten games. They’ve brought in manager Vítor Pereira, a master at relegation fights, to keep their heads above water. But it’s a dangerous proposition.

The battle here starts with the back lines. Of the teams in the bottom ten, both Brighton and Forest are in the top four in total defense. They’ve largely been able to bend without breaking. The real disparity is in their attacking prowess: Brighton has hovered near league average, while Forest has struggled all year to generate offense. Only 20th-ranked Wolverhampton has scored fewer goals than Forest this season.

If Forest wants to win this one, they need excellence from the midfield. Morgan Gibbs-White has been their danger man all season, leading the team with six goals. Callum Hudson-Odoi needs to contribute as well and has pitched in during their Europa League campaign. And, of course, Elliot Anderson must dominate as a defender in front of their back line.

Brighton are looking to Danny Welbeck to finish off their diverse wing attack. Kaoru Mitoma and Yankuba Minteh have provided consistent service all year long and will continue to do so against this Forest back line. But they need the finishing from Welbeck, or all is for naught.

Ultimately, Brighton is the better team top to bottom. Forest has enough to stay out of relegation, but this is a bad matchup for them. The Seagulls defense will put the clamps on Nottingham and walk out with a low-scoring win.

Best Bet: Brighton Moneyline + Under 2.5 Total Goals Same Game Parlay (+375)
