The original Union Air Jordan 1 collab from 2018 remains one of the most beloved modern collabs in sneaker history, still commanding an average price of $974 in 42 sales over the last three months. Now Chris Gibbs is back, teaming up with Fragment’s Hiroshi Fujiwara on a new edition of the sneaker that started modern sneaker culture as we know it.
The Union x Fragment Air Jordan 1 dropped during All-Star Weekend, but now it will see a wider release on the SNKRS app on Friday, February 27 at 10 a.m. ET for a retail price of $205 USD.

Dubbed The Urahara Stitch, the brands explain that the collab is inspired by the history of its key creatives, Chris Gibbs and Hiroshi Fujiwara.
What began in the 90’s became a global cultural moment. It was during this period that Chris Gibbs and Hiroshi Fujiwara first met, forming a bond that continues to shape their work decades later.
The Urahara Stitch reflects years of cultural exchange between Tokyo and Los Angeles. For 2026, that exchange continues— Mastering the Urahara Stitch at the Union Institute of Los Angeles.
The Air Jordan 1 might not be at its peak popularity, nor even on the rise as it was when the first Union Air Jordan 1 collab dropped eight years ago, but this collaboration between Union and Fragment should make for one of the most hyped and popular drops of the year. As I have written before, the Air Jordan 1 is, to many, the perfect sneaker: Classic, looks good in almost any color combination and goes with almost any look. It remains a timeless icon, just like the man himself.
Like previous Union Air Jordan 1 collabs, this drop utilizes an almost Frankenstein-like approach, with the lower portion of the shoe in a slightly different colorblocking than the collar, with the signature Union stiching uniting the two. Last year we saw a combination of the Chicago and Shadow Grey colorways, while in the past we’ve seen releases make reference to the Bred (mixed with sport royal) and the Black Toe (with an Natural Grey collar).
The colorway dropping on February 27 is one of three to drop this year, alongside a Black/Royal and White and a White/Black, with the White/Black colorway being the most rare. Dubbed by SNKRS as the Air Jordan 1 x Union x Fragment Black and Varsity Red, this colorway takes its inspiration from the 2014 Fragment collab on the Air Jordan 1, which is grail-level shoe for many, and the collar of the OG Chicago or Bred colorways. The midsole is done up in an aged sail color, while the outsole is royal blue and the tongue features the unfinished raw foam look that has become en vogue for collaborations in recent years.
SNKRS notes that the shoe features premium leather and that design incorporates signature elements from both Union and Fragment. This includes Union’s UN/LA tag and signature stitching as well as Fragment’s lightning bolt logo stamped onto the back heel as it was on its 2014 Air Jordan 1 collab. The insole also features both Union and Fragment designs and like previous Union collabs the laces will sport split colors. There will also be an accompanying clothing capsule to complete your fit.
The colorway dropping on February 27 is already available on StockX, with an average price of $386 on 2,935 sales over the past three months. After several raffles, this SNKRS drop represents what should be the last opportunity for sneakerheads to get this collab without having to resort to the secondary market, so expect it to be very popular and sell out fast.
