Update: Keegan Murray (ankle) won’t return Wednesday.

With 3:23 left in the first quarter of Wednesday’s game against the Houston Rockets, Keegan Murray went back to the locker room after seemingly injuring his ankle.

Murray attempted to block a layup attempt in the paint but tweaked his ankle on the landing. He was replaced by Precious Achiuwa.

Before exiting, Murray contributed three points, one rebound, and a block in nine minutes of action.

It’s been an injury-filled season for Murray — thumb, trap, calf and now his ankle — causing him to miss 37 games. With the Kings well-positioned for the number one pick in the upcoming draft, there is no point in rushing back the former fourth overall pick.

Daeqwon Plowden and Nique Clifford will likely be the biggest beneficiaries if Murray is out for an extended period of time, and DeMar DeRozan will likely slide down to small forward.

Stay tuned to DK Network for the latest updates regarding Murray’s status.

Stan joined DraftKings in December of 2020. It was a glorious time, except for that whole COVID thing, when we got Madden streams and boisterous bat flips from the KBO. I was brought on board to bring some West Coast flavor. I especially love hoops, and most of my content is in that arena. When I walk along the beach, strumming my guitar, the beat that I hear is not one of crashing waves. No, it is the beat of the ball bouncing off the hardwood with highs provided by the squeaks of the sneakers. Ball is life.
