Scottie Barnes (quad) is currently listed as questionable on Toronto’s injury report. Even if the forward does suit up, he’s unlikely to operate at 100%. Fortunately for the Raptors, this roster has several other names capable of carrying the offense. That includes RJ Barrett, an often slept-on member of this starting five. The shooting guard has rounded into a quality option out of the backcourt. Through 34 games this season, he’s accounted for 18.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists to go with 47/35/71 shooting splits.
Barrett’s production can vacillate, partially a consequence of playing on this deep Raptors squad. Over his last six games, the 25-year-old is averaging 15.0 points per game on 41% shooting. With that being said, he’s found success in Wednesday’s matchup before. RJ has tallied at least 18 points in six of his previous seven meetings with San Antonio. Given the potential absence of Barnes, Barrett should have every opportunity to reach that total once more on Wednesday.
