The final game of Tuesday’s NBA schedule sees the Los Angeles Lakers and their star trio welcome Paolo Banchero and the Orlando Magic to the West Coast. This could be a very exciting matchup between a high-powered L.A. offense and a gritty Orlando side that likes to slow the pace, and there are plenty of prop bet options available to get in on the action with.

Jalen Suggs over 2.5 3PM (+141)
As a disclaimer, Jalen Suggs is questionable to play tonight with a back issue and missed back-to-back games on February 21 and 22. However, I do like this play on his three-pointer market, especially given recent results when he’s on the floor. Suggs is no sniper at 32.8% from beyond the arc this season, and his lone year above that mark across five NBA campaigns feels like more of an aberration than anything else. However, he’s actually hit at least three shots from distance in five of his last eight outings and appears to be finding his stride as a shooter.
Realistically, this is the best stretch of play from Suggs in terms of three-pointers we’ve seen all season, and the plus odds make the risk worth it in terms of this prop. There should be plenty of scoring tonight since both teams involved are middle-of-the-pack in PPG allowed, and the Lakers have the star power to really push the Magic anyways. Los Angeles also sits 17th in opponent 3PM per game and gives up a three-point percentage of 36.5%, 21st in the league. With the defense likely to hone in on Paolo Banchero and the more reliable shooters around him, Suggs could get left open enough to convert three attempts tonight.
Luka Doncic under 3.5 3PM (-105)
We’re going the opposite direction of the last prop bet with our next pick. Look, Luka Doncic is an absolute superstar and there’s a reason he’s one of the favorite picks for DraftKings’ King of the Court promo every week when he’s on the floor for it. However, I’m fading him in one particular market tonight. While the 3.7 made threes per game and 10.3 attempts he averages this season are career-highs, he’s still converting those looks at just a 35.5% rate. That’s not particularly efficient and it’s tough to envision him making a ton in tonight’s matchup for one key reason.
The opposing Magic take away the three-pointer better than almost any other team in the NBA. They allow opponents to shoot 35.7% from downtown, but the 33.1 3PA and 11.8 3PM they give up on a per-game basis are the lowest and second-lowest marks in the entire league. The defensive scheme makes locking down the perimeter a priority, so it’s going to be difficult for Doncic to hit four or more shots from deep tonight. Watch for his volume of attempts to drop somewhat as he stays below the line of 3.5 makes.
