Phoenix Suns standout Dillon Brooks suffered a fractured left hand during Saturday’s matchup against the Orlando Magic. Per ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Oregon product will be sidelined for the next 4-6 weeks.
This interrupts a strong season by Brooks, who has played a major role in this Suns team exceeding expectations. Across his 50 games played, Brooks is averaging a career-high 20.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. He was spotted on the bench with a cast on his left hand during yesterday’s matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers. At the time, it was reported that more tests were needed to determine the recovery timeline, but it has now been determined that this will last 4-6 weeks.
It is worth noting that the Suns have not ruled Brooks out for the season. With roughly seven weeks remaining in the regular season, the hope will be for the tone-setting guard to return to the floor this year.
The Suns sit in seventh place in the Western Conference with a 33-25 record on the season. After pulling the plug on the superstar experience from last season, Phoenix has largely exceeded expectations.
Phoenix currently holds -425 odds of making the playoffs on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Suns also hold +12000 odds of winning the Western Conference and +25000 odds of winning the NBA Championship.
