What happened to Jalen Smith? Live injury updates for Knicks vs. Bulls on Sunday 2/22/26

With 6:46 left in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the New York Knicks, Jalen Smith was replaced by Nick Richards. Smith experienced tightness in his right calf and will not return to the contest.

There’s been no mention of when the injury occurred.

Prior to exiting, Smith contributed 12 points, five rebounds, an assist and a steal in 18 minutes of action. Richards would be the beneficiary if Smith is out for an extended period of time because the Bulls are thin at center. Guerschon Yabusele could play some small-ball center to back up Richards.
